MINIVOLLEY
/ˈminēˌvälē/
A version of volleyball played with fewer players per team than the standard number of six in a smaller court and a lower net.
As its very name indicates, “volleyball of the little ones,” MiniVolley was conceived by East German FIVB coach Horst Baacke in the 60s. It's a program first developed by the FIVB and incorporated into USA Volleyball for over 35 years. In essence, MiniVolley is a simplified volleyball adapted to the capacities and needs of youth ages 10-13.
